Hi, everyone!
It's been a long time since I sent out my last Friends and Family Newsletter. I hope you've been well and are keeping your financial heads above water as our economy gradually returns to its former healthy state (he said hopefully). Amy, the dogs and I are doing fine, all considered, and we hope you can join us at my upcoming gallery exhibit with Toni Scott and John Paul Thornton early next month. (More information on that below.)

FACEBOOK PHOTOGRAPHY ALBUMS
Are you on Facebook? I am, and it's turned out to be a wonderful medium to display my images to anyone who's interested. I post a new photo album about once a week. If you'd like to become a Facebook Friend, just become a member at www.facebook.com, search for "Charlie Morey" and send me a request. Here's a link to my Profile Page: www.facebook.com/charlie.morey
MORE L.A. ZOO ANIMAL PORTRAITS
I'm ever expanding my "A Face Like Yours..." portfolio, and each time I visit the zoo on a combination exercise/photography mission, I post the results on Facebook. Please click here to see an example.
HAPPY (?) BIRTHDAY!
Happens every darn year...another birthday! I just celebrated number 63 on the last day of April. I think it's about time to discontinue that particular custom. Maybe start counting backwards now.
MAINE MAN
Did you know that I was born and raised in the rural village of Orland, Maine? I enjoyed a Tom Sawyer childhood, complete with my own Huck Finn buddy (Barton Hutchins), and together we spent endless free, happy days doing things that country kids do (like build a raft of some old utility poles we found and float it down over the dam, jumping off just before the big crash). Nowadays I visit Maine to see Mom, my siblings and their kids, and of course, to take pictures. This spring's Maine visit runs from May 14-20, and I expect to have a new album of images to show you soon.
BLACK TIE IN THE BIG APPLE
Amy's dad is a doctor who specializes in headache treatment. He created the National Headache Foundation back in the early 1970s to provide information for headache sufferers and to support research on new cures. Each year, the foundation hosts a benefit dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Amy and I attended this year, and here's a photo album with a mix of artsy, touristy and family images: New York Trip
